A number of South West TAFE students have come home this week with a swag of medals after proving their trade skills are amongst the best in the country at the recent WorldSkills Australia National Championships 2018 in Sydney.
Dale Alcock Homes South West apprentice Nikolas Foster came home with gold for his bricklaying abilities whilst Bunbury Catholic College student Caitlin Carmody also brought gold home for hairdressing.
Kevin Dirks and Jasmin Fussell came home with silver whilst Eaton Community College student Sophie Morgan was awarded bronze.
South Regional TAFE director Duncan Anderson said all the students who competed should be extremely proud.
“We are very impressed with the outstanding results achieved by our students at WorldSkills,” he said.
“Competing at a National Championships is a daunting experience but our students have been well prepared by the lecturers and mentors and showed not only their outstanding skill level but also their maturity, confidence and dedication to their trade.
