Bunbury’s biggest stage for all things entertainment has received a huge thumbs up.
Earlier this month, the City of Bunbury presented a new Draft Management Agreement to be approved by the council.
The Draft Management Agreement was designed to identify the responsibilities of the City of Bunbury and Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre.
Bunbury has greatly benefited from the centre’s efforts, according to City of Bunbury Mayor Gary Brennan.
“This is a credit to the hard work put in by both the centre’s management and city officers in ensuring both parties are satisfied with the outcome and it was recognised that, with such an agreement in place, the centre can evolve and grow in line with its strategic plan,” he said.
“The centre is a state-of-the-art, purpose-built regional facility which will now continue to deliver sensational outcomes for the community.”
The city has increased funding for the centre’s operations to $420,000 per year over the next five years.
Bunbury’s entertainment hub will also receive up to $100,000 per year for capital expenditure.
The city agreed to cover structural maintenance and landscaping.
Key Performance Indicators have called for the facility to host a minimum of 20 local events annually.
Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre executive director Fiona de Garis expressed her excitement for the new agreement.
She noted the changes would help the centre create more opportunities for local content.
