The Bunbury Water Polo Association has celebrated several major achievements in 2018.
Earlier this month, the group hosted the 2018 WA Masters Water Polo Championships at the South West Sports Centre.
In the men’s division, the Bunbury Old Boys went up against the Saints, City Beach, Melville Grey Sharks, Cockatoos, and the Spitting Cobras.
The Bunbury Old Boys missed out on a place in the grand final.
Taking advantage of their three-goal head start (being a 60+ team), the Spitting Cobras went on to win 7 to 5.
In the women’s competition, the Aquaholics and Dolphins reached the grand final undefeated.
The Aquaholics took home the spoils following a 3-1 result in the shootout.
In May, Bunbury athletes Amy Sundercombe, Gilly Johnson and Jayden Horne represented Western Australia at the 2018 National Country Championships.
The state women’s side brought home bronze, while the men’s team finished fifth overall.
