The South West Development Commission’s annual This South West Life photography competition has begun.
The competition gives people the chance to have their photos included in next year’s South West Calendar.
South West Development Commission acting chief executive officer Rebecca Ball said this year’s contest urges photography enthusiasts to turn their lenses to the landscapes and landmarks of the South West.
“Some of region’s landscapes and landmarks are well-known and we are challenging people to bring a fresh perspective to these familiar sights by capturing them in a creative way,” she said.
“The winning images will feature in a calendar that will be made available for free for the purpose of promoting the South West region.”
The competition is open to people of all ages, both amateurs and professionals.
Photos must be taken between January 1 and June 30 2018 to be considered for being part of the calendar.
A total of 13 winning photos will be selected to feature in the calendar, along with 13 runners-up.
One winner will have the additional honour of being the Chairman’s Choice, while another will receive the chief executive officer’s commendation.
The competition wraps up on June 30.
