South West grandparents are being encouraged to have their say to help inform advocacy, policy and service development through a new survey.
The research, led by Wanslea Family Services and conducted by Edith Cowan University and Curtin University, includes surveys of grandparent carers, in-depth interviews and focus groups, policy review and analysis and evaluation of leadership camps for grandchildren.
Wanslea research and evaluation manager Katrina Stratton they were hoping to recruit more than 1000 grandparents across WA to participate in the survey.
The survey aims to provide an understanding of the impact of the caring role of grandparents, and identify their support needs.
