Sunday marked a proud moment in the Dalyellup Rhinos Junior Rugby League Club’s history.
The club hosted teams from the Australind Cowboys, Willagee Bears, Ellenbrook Rabbitohs, and Kwinana Wolves for a Gala Day on July 1.
Throughout the day, teams of varying age groups took to Ferndale Park for some spirited rugby league action.
Dalyellup Rhinos President and Coach Scott Smith praised the clubs involved for coming together.
“It’s to expose rugby league and the talent within Bunbury,” he said.
“Usually in the South West there is only the Dalyellup Rhinos and Australind Cowboys, so it’s good for the kids to see the other teams coming down from Perth.
“They are more than willing to come down.
“The day gives the kids some exposure to competition and different competitors.”
Mr Scott said the Rhinos were in talks to hold a men’s pre-season competition and a touch rugby event in 2019.
