The drivers and crew from Chicane Team Racing received a nice surprise during their recent trip to Bunbury.
Competing in the 2018 GT Fabrication Targa Bunbury Sprint on June 23 and 24, the team was paid a visit by Bunbury four-year-old, and the team’s “biggest fan”, Chad Logan.
Chicane Team Racing media representative Christian Ball said they first met Logan during last year’s Targa Bunbury Sprint.
“While on display in 2017, we met a little boy, Chad, who came up and shook our hands and loved our car,” he said.
“He came back to us a year older this year, and he had put all his photos of us on his wall.
“He liked the red, white and green colour scheme.”
Peter Hay and Steven Crawford, driving their 1996 Toyota Celica GT4, finished 16th in the Class III (Targa Cup 4WD up to 3500cc) event.
“Normally we’d just have a guys’ weekend away, but we ended up talking more about Chad than the cars or the racing that weekend,” Ball said.
“It’s amazing that we’ve inspired such a young fella to want to come watch us.”
