WA’s new planning commission visited Bunbury last week and met with key leaders. Hosted by the Bunbury Geographe Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Bunbury MLA Don Punch, David Caddy heard from local businesses regarding their planning priorities for the region.
Mr Caddy also provided a brief update on the evolving role of the planning commission and the role of the Bunbury Development Committee and said it had been great to visit the region and see how much Bunbury had changed.
“The growth in Bunbury over the past 30 years, the transformation has been phenomenal and it’s very pleasing to drive down the main street and see the changes,” he said.
“There are vacancies, there is no doubt about that but we’ve got a city council and a local member committed to increasing the vibrancy of the CBD and I think that’s very important.
“We spent a very fruitful day looking around Bunbury seeing what is going on, the initiatives being taken as far as development is concerned.”
Mr Caddy said he had also met with the Bunbury Development Committee and had asked the group to think outside the box in providing a scope of work for a review of the regional strategy.
