A Bunbury real estate agency has confirmed it is possible for landowners to offer pop-up shop and short-term arrangements for small businesses looking to dip their toes into the world of bricks and mortar retail.
Commercial Realty principal Mike Jenkins said he thought pop-up shops could work for some of the empty spaces currently available in Bunbury.
“It’s not quite as easy as just giving someone the keys,” he said.
“There are some formal matters to work through in regard to the Commercial Tenancy Retail Shops Act.
“Lessees would have to meet minimum standards in regard to insurance as well as financial capability to meet commitments and obligations.”
Mr Jenkins said he thought most Bunbury landowners would consider offering a pop-up shop arrangement.
“Shorter leases have always been available,” he said.
“However, lessors are generally looking for longer term commitments but in these difficult market conditions most lessors will consider shorter term options.”
