An osteoarthritis of the knee education and self-management program will be held in Bunbury during July.
Arthritis and Osteoporosis WA is offering the six-week program run by health professionals, which aims to educate individuals about osteoarthritis of the knee and provide up-to-date information on effective ways to manage it.
The program will begin on July 28 and run till September 8.
Arthritis and Osteoporosis WA health services manager Jennifer Persaud said research showed individuals who attended the program were equipped with the knowledge and skills that allowed them to take an active role in managing their condition.
“They report improved quality of life and better health outcomes than those who are not well informed about their condition,” she said.
Topics covered will include learning about osteoarthritis of the knee, medications and surgery, nutrition and healthy eating, posture and balance, stretches and exercises.
