Carey Park cemented its place atop the 2018 South West Netball Football League ladder with a come-from-behind win over Bunbury in round 12.
Sunday’s showdown saw Bunbury goal shooter Cass Shine and goal attack Cassady Anderson help their side to an early lead.
Ahead by six at quarter time, the Bulldogs continued their run and shut down Carey Park around the court.
Bunbury’s chances looked promising, with the side in front by nine at the main break.
The league leaders caught up in the third to be within six of the Bulldogs at the final change.
Carey Park then rallied to score a 58 to 50 win and clinch a 10 win/two loss record with seven regular season rounds remaining.
Fresh from losses to Busselton, Carey Park, and Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault, South Bunbury was determined to claim their third win of the season.
Tigers’ centre Amy Howard and wing attack Katey Walsh provided a plethora of opportunities for the forwards.
Both teams played out a tight first term, before the Tigers nabbed a four-goal lead at quarter time.
Trailing by one at half time and two at the final break, the Augusta-Margaret River Hawks were determined to take the lead.
However, South Bunbury held on to win 54 to 44.
Second-placed Busselton overpowered Eaton and claimed a 36-goal victory.
Aided by Souwest Jets players Maia Bratton and Emma Borinelli up forward, Busselton held onto a convincing lead throughout the game.
The team delivered a 66 to 30 result and now sits two wins behind Carey Park.
It has been a month of ups and downs for the Souwest Jets.
Round five saw the Jets suffer a sickening 69 to 37 loss to the Coastal Sharks.
The Jets hit back three days later, scoring a 60 to 46 win over the Wheatbelt Flames in Northam.
In a heart-thumping clash, the Jets went down 57 to 54 against South East Demons.
The South West side will be looking for its third win of the season against West Coast Warriors in Eaton on Friday night.
