A new free fitness program for young people will be launched on September 20.
Fitspace is a collaboration between headspace Bunbury and Jetts gym.
Sessions will be held every Thursday at the PCYC with Jetts personal trainer Tamara Organ and will include a combination of boxing and interval training.
“The program is tailored to suit all fitness levels and interval training is designed to be fun, get maximum benefits improving strength, fitness and endurance,” she said.
“Exercise is for everyone and you don’t have to be fit to start.”
The program aims to encourage young people to move their body and increase their fitness levels whilst providing education on health and fitness topics and form a holistic health and fitness program.
headspace Bunbury community engagement officer Penny McCall said the organisation was thrilled with the collaboration and in bringing the opportunity to young people to stay active in a supportive fun environment.
“Exercise can be daunting and many young people are nervous to join a gym so we are so excited to provide them with a supportive environment to engage in fitness, make friends and get excited about health,” she said.
“It is our goal that the awesome incentives Jetts have offered participants and the confidence they will gain through the program will encourage them be to part of the positive Jetts Gym community and exercise regularly.”
headspace Bunbury Youth Reference Group member Caitlin Quill said the program meant you could get fit and healthy while catching up with friends and have fun.
