Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School Open Girls Netball team won the Championship Schools Netball Cup on Wednesday, August 22.
The team progressed undefeated through the 2018 Championship Schools Netball Cup, including the South West Competition.
They then claimed the cup from over 64 teams in the Open Girls division.
This win follows on from the team’s undefeated record in the A Grade competition at Country Week, where they were awarded the championship for the fifth year in a row.
“This team can now make claim to being the best in the West,” Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School secondary netball coordinator Marrissa Pirie said.
“This is a wonderful achievement, particularly for a regional School, where we have additional travel to contend with.
“We are fortunate to have very strong local competition and South West Netball work hard to ensure that the talent in our region has the chance to progress through the Netball WA pathways.”
The team was coached by Tash O’Neill, while Year 11 student Georgia O’Neill was awarded Most Valuable Player in the Championship Schools Netball Cup grand final.
