The WA Mixed Ultimate Championships event was held at Hay Park over the weekend with 118 competitors taking part.
It’s the first time Bunbury has hosted the Ultimate frisbee event, which is a unique team sport that uses a flying disc and combines elements of soccer, netball and American football.
Bunbury Ultimate vice president and event organiser Crystal Peel said windy conditions had made for interesting plays over the two-day competition where eight teams battled it out.
“This is the first time Bunbury has hosted the State Championships, quite often it is hosted in Perth by WA Ultimate but this time they've teamed up with us to put on a tournament in regional WA,” she said.
“It is really nice because some of these teams don't make it down to our tournament because they are more elite and more competitive, so it's nice for them to come to Bunbury and see what we have to offer.
“We've had some really close games and we definitely have the most fun out there.”
