Lachlan Riley, 18, has made waves during his stint in the West Australian Football League.
The former South Bunbury footballer was recently picked for the 2018 WAFL Colts Team of the Year, joining Collie Eagles/East Fremantle player Cameron Davidson.
Riley said he was happy to have played consistent, energetic football during the season.
“It’s a pretty good reward for what was a pretty long season, essentially starting in November last year,” he said.
“All the way through the year there’s a lot of work that goes into it, so it feels pretty good to be recognised.
“I had a pretty shaky start to the season so, after that, I decided to work pretty hard.
“I then started playing pretty good, consistent football.
“It was a fairly disappointing end to the season this year, but overall we had a pretty good season.”
Riley spent eight seasons at the Tigers, before moving north to play for Peel Thunder in 2017.
Over the course of the 2017 (20 games) and 2018 (17) seasons, Riley has averaged 13 disposals and five marks per game.
He notched up 25 disposals, eight marks, and three tackles in Peel’s semi-final clash with East Fremantle, after landing 30 disposals, five marks, and three tackles in the Thunder’s qualifying final against Swan Districts.

Riley also made his WAFL league debut in 2018, claiming 13 disposals, five marks and two tackles against East Perth in Round 21.
In his two years as a WAFL colts player, Riley has also booted seven goals.
The 18-year-old said his time at Peel has given him a profound respect for WA football.
South Bunbury sons Kade Wallrodt and Ethan Nordahl will represent Swan Districts in the 2018 WAFL Colts Grand Final against Subiaco.
