There’s no need to leave Bunbury in order to have some fun this weekend.
The City will be playing host to the Junior Cycling National Championships from Friday, September 21 to Sunday, September 23.
The event is expected to draw 250 competitors and their families to the Bunbury-Geographe region, equating to an average spend of $262 per person resulting in a forecasted $614,250 economic boon for the community.
Another exciting sporting event taking place from Saturday to Monday is the Make Smoking History 2018 State Karting Championship held at the Bunbury City Kart Club.
This event is free for spectators to enjoy with qualifying finals on the Sunday and finals raced on Monday from 8am.
The Moscow Circus is currently in town and can be found down at Luciana Park adjacent to the Leschenault Inlet.
There are matinee, afternoon and evening shows.
Bunbury Mayor Gary Brennan said the weekend was a sensational way to kick off the new events season and to celebrate spring in the city.
“I would like to extend a warm welcome to all the competitors, their friends and family who will be in Bunbury over the weekend and hope they enjoy their stay in paradise,” he said.
“It is fantastic to have our city recognised as a premier destination for events and this is just the beginning of what is sure to be a stellar events season.”
