Collingwood's Adam Treloar has never won a grand final at any level but the gun midfielder is confident the Magpies have the game to break that drought.
Nathan Buckley's side have lost twice to the Eagles this season - by 35 points at the MCG in round 17 and by 16 points in the qualifying final at Optus Stadium.
The Magpies led at three-quarter time in their past meeting and Treloar is adamant they can turn the tables on Saturday.
"I think what we took away from that game was that our brand does stack up against the best opposition," Treloar told Channel Seven's Game Day.
"Going up against West Coast over there ... they're one of the hardest teams to beat as it is and to play them on their own surface it was tough.
"But we came away really positive.
"We thought that next time we come up against them we'll play our brand of footy for longer and focus on what we need to improve on and that's what we'll do."
Collingwood's qualifying final loss to the Eagles was Treloar's first match back after a rare dual-hamstring injury suffered in round 14.
Treloar admitted he thought his season was over when he was told he would need an operation.
"But I had no doubt the team could (make the grand final)," he said.
"I knew our brand of footy definitely stacked up against anyone, but personally no way.
"It was quite a unique injury to do both hammies at the same time, with the left one being more significant than the right one and having surgery.
"There were some dark times early in my rehab but the guys gave me hope with the way that they were playing.
"It motivated me to want to get back and hopefully be there if we were still in it come the end of the season.
"But I haven't looked back now we're here ... hopefully I can forget about the hamstrings."
