In a bid to support the region’s less fortunate, Woolworths stores have combined their fundraising efforts to donate $5,000 to the Bunbury Soup Van.
Bunbury Soup Van co-founder Denise Ladhams said they were humbled by the support from Woolworths teams across the South West and honoured to see the effort put into providing a helping hand to the local community.
“The purchase of our second van will help provide meals and essentials to hundreds of people in our community,” she said.
“We’re so thrilled to have the team at Woolworths go that extra mile to help us reach our goal of purchasing a second van much sooner than expected.”
The donation comes following the recent Apex Sleepout, which saw several Woolworths team members join in to support the cause to raise further funds for the less fortunate in the Bunbury region.
Woolworths group manager Tina Anandji said the team had been passionate about supporting the Bunbury Soup Van and were thrilled to have played a part in helping fund an additional van.
“We are incredibly proud to be able to do something that will make a measurable difference to the lives of many people within our local community,” she said.
Bunbury Soup Van is a volunteer run grassroots community group delivering essentials to those in need. Woolworths has been a proud supporter of the Bunbury Soup Van for just under 12 months, providing a series of products and groceries to support community members in need.
