The City of Bunbury Surf Life Saving Club is working around the clock in preparation for the 41st HitFM Surf to Surf Fun Run on Sunday, October 14.

This year’s event will feature the Fast 5 Schools Challenge – 5-kilometre run, Corporate and Club Challenge 5km run, 2km run, 5km walk, 5km run, 10km run, and 21.1km half marathon.

Participants will get the chance to take in views of the Back Beach, Lighthouse, and Wyalup-Rocky Point whilst travelling along Ocean Drive.

We’re really hoping for a wonderful day and success for all the participants.

Market stalls and family-friendly activities will also be included.

City of Bunbury Surf Life Saving Club president Denise Duncan said they had gathered around 300 registrations so far, and were striving to attain around 700.

“It’s our major fundraiser but also a significant family event, so we’re really hoping to get as many spectators there as possible to support the club,” she said.

“I think it will be as successful and competitive as last year’s event. We’ve got a lot of great support from local businesses.

“We’re really hoping for a wonderful day and success for all the participants.

“It gives people a fitness goal ahead of Summer and it highlights our beautiful coastline.”

The club will hold a registration day, at its Back Beach premises, on Saturday, October 13.
