A great crowd of past and present bowlers attended the Open Day 100-year celebration on Sunday, October 7.
Under the guidance of Valdis Brojanowski the day commenced with breakfast and in attendance were Collie-Preston MLA Mick Murray and Sarah Stanley from the Shire of Collie.
Towards the end of breakfast speeches commenced with Brojanowski, followed by Mick Murray and club patron Ray Hebbard who said a few words about when and where the club started and how it got to where it is now.
Sponsors for the day were Ray Hebbard, Cfmeum WA and Gull service station. Brojanowski also thanked the ladies and men in the kitchen and barbecue area and the bar staff and match and play who organised the games.
Lunch was sponsored by Ray Hebbard and everyone who came along on the day enjoyed catching up after so long. At lunch time the celebratory cake was cut by the oldest members on the day Ted McCormack and Estelle Johnsen.
Two games were played as there was a redraw after the first game.
Thank you to all sponsors for the day and to Brooke and Teagan of the Collie Cake Ladies for their beautiful cake and cup cakes which everyone enjoyed and commented on what a good job they did.
