Bunbury’s female athletes are fighting fit ahead of the 2018 Nina’s Women’s Triathlon.
The annual event will bring athletes together at the South West Sports Centre on Sunday, November 11.
Competitors will take part in either the Gold level (200-metre swim, 10-kilometre bike ride, 2km run) or Diamond level (300m swim, 15km bike ride, 3km run) triathlons.
Nina’s Women’s Triathlon committee member Lorrie Morrison revealed they were well on their way to filling the 350 available spots.
She said their Have A Go training program had also been a success.
“We have an accredited coach in Jim Hedderwick, we’ve got a training program where he’s assisting people through cycling and running,” she said.
“The South West Sports Centre has also given us a swimming coach to help our participants as well.
“The program is helping them with all of those disciplines.”
It’s about getting women back into sport, getting them being active again, and giving them the opportunity to trial triathlons in a fun environment.

Ms Morrison said the event was essential to the Bunbury Triathlon Club, Bunbury Runners’ Club, and Bunbury Cycle Club.
“It’s great for your mental health, and becoming involved in clubs with like-minded people,” she said.
“For a lot of women, it’s a chance for them to do something for themselves.
