More than 160 people attended the Iluka Visions 2018 Awards Night at BRAG on Friday, October 11, with Liam Harris taking out top honours for his series of illustrations.
Harris’s piece, titled ‘Mining Bloom’, gave insight into the other side of the mining boom and the positive impact it can have in a community.
The Bunbury Catholic College student took home a $100 voucher and a book as part of his prize.
Winner of the coveted Iluka Prize and a week-long internship at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Art was Nina Raper.
This prize also included a $300 bursary and five nights accommodation in Perth.
The Year 12 Manea Senior College student was one of six students who applied for the prestigious award, which involved submitting a written application and a portfolio of work.
