Has a family member ever made you feel unsafe?
Do you feel like you might need a restraining order to protect yourself?
Have you already applied for a restraining order and want to know what to do next?
Or has someone applied for a family violence restraining order against you and you want to know how to respond?
If you have never been to court before, or you just want to know more about Family Violence Restraining Orders, then your first step is to attend a free information session with the South West Community Legal Centre.
Our information sessions will help you to understand the law relating to Family Violence Restraining Orders, the court procedure, and potential avenues for resolution.
Here’s what some participants have said about these sessions: “Extremely well presented and delivered. I learnt a lot from the session”, “Presented in a way that was easy to understand. Makes me feel more optimistic about FVRO processes”.
We provide two separate sessions; one session is intended to benefit Applicants, and one session is intended to inform Respondents in regard to FVRO proceedings.
These sessions are free of charge and are open to everyone.
These sessions will be held at the Bunbury Library, 1 Parkfield Street, Bunbury. There is no need to reserve your place:
Applicants: Tuesday, October 23 – 1.30pm;
Respondents: Friday, October 26 – 1.30pm.
We strongly urge interested community members to attend an information session.
Ignoring the upcoming court date won’t make it go away.
But you can gain information and understanding about the processes so that you are better prepared for the court day.
