The organisations have been awarded state government funding and will share in $80,000 along with 75 other community groups and local governments across WA.
Seniors Week will kick off on November 11 and run until November 17.
These events recognises the tremendous contribution that seniors make to our community.
- Seniors and Ageing Minister Mick Murray
The Shire of Dardanup will host a Seniors Celebration Day on November 16, offering chair yoga, nutrition talks, Tai Chi, tea cup posies, pebble artistry, lunch and a concert at the Dardanup Hall.
Seniors and Ageing Minister Mick Murray said the week was a time to acknowledge and honour older Western Australians
“As a regional Member of Parliament, I am particularly pleased to see so many of these grants supporting events and activities in regional communities and I encourage all Western Australians, regardless of age, to get involved,” he said.
“Each event will bring something to the people who organise it, their community and of course, the distinguished Western Australian seniors celebrated.”
