Fire ripped through a Bunbury home early this morning after its occupants left a heater on overnight.
Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel and police officers responded to a 000 call at about 5.13am on October 29.
“The caller reported smoke and flames coming through the roof of the house,” a DFES spokesperson said.
"By the time fire crews got there, the house was fully involved.”
Crews from the Bunbury Fire Brigade and Bunbury Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene 10 minutes later to fight the blaze.
Firefighters were forced to pull the roof off the Park Street residence to extinguish the fire.
Six vehicles were utilised during the incident.
The damage bill was estimated at around $300,000.
The cause of the blaze was deemed accidental.
