The Bunbury’s First Settlers’ Descendants Group is hoping its next event will mark a major milestone.
Members of the Scott and McGregor families will come together for the group’s 180 Year Reunion event on December 1 at Payne Park.
The gates will open at 10.30am, with appropriate colour patches being given to Scott/McGregor descendants upon entry.
From the beginning of the event until 3.30pm, Anchor-men, Bush Poets, Scottish Piper, and Bunbury’s Sing Australia group will be performing some of their favourite crowd-pleasing tunes.
The Bunbury Oral History Group will conduct interviews with the descendants.
Historical displays and raffles will also be held on the day.
All surplus funds raised from the event will go towards the group’s efforts to restore the Scott grave sites at St Mark’s Church.
Looking back on European settlement within the region, the event will celebrate the lives and achievements of first settlers John and Helen Scott, along with Helen’s first son Daniel McGregor.
