Harvey Bulls representatives are confident they can help to usher in a new era for the club in 2019.
The club is planning to enter an Under 18s side and an Open team into next year’s South West Netball Football League competition.
Harvey Bulls Netball Club secretary Jo Wood said they had high hopes of getting a league side into the 2019 tournament.
“We always have quite a few young girls that are new to that level of competition, so it’s always challenging for the U18s,” she said.
“However, as the girls get older they move through.
“We’re now seeing a few girls being able to progress into the league division.
“The girls that I have spoken to are very keen to get the team up and running again, so I believe it will be very positive.
“We seem to have the numbers which is very exciting.”
Wood said next year would see more people becoming involved in the club.
“We’re trying to work together with the Harvey Netball Association to give those kids something to aspire to, by coming into the U18s and then moving up,” she said.
“It just makes it feel like a big community.
“It’s open to everybody to come and have a go. Netball is a great team sport and the camaraderie is fantastic.”
The Bulls are also looking for a coach to assist both teams ahead of the new season.
“Due to work and family commitments, our coach from this year – Jo Morley – is unable to continue,” Wood said.
“So, we’re on the look out for a coach who can coordinate both teams.
“We are looking for someone who can come in, share their knowledge of the game, teach our girls, and have some fun.”
The Bulls finished last year’s SWNFL reserves – regular season in third place, with ten wins and four losses.
They then went on to claim the premiership title with a 71 to 56 grand final victory over Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault.
The U18s side finished eighth in 2017 and ninth this year.
Prior to last season, the club regularly entered reserves and U18s teams into the competition.
