The Bunbury community gathered to walk and run together for 24 hours on the weekend at this year’s Relay for Life.
Kicking off at 11am on Saturday, November 3, at Payne Park, more than 60 teams participated raising over $160,000 for the Cancer Council’s research, prevention and support services initiatives.
Willy Wonka, Care Bears, a minion, West Coast Eagles, hula girls, M&M’s, a dinosaur and flamingos were just some of the characters with teams creating colourful tents along with touching tributes to loved ones.
Stalls, food trucks and musical acts kept the crowds entertained throughout the day and into the night.
Community leaders including Member for Forrest Nola Marino and Member for Bunbury Don Punch and City of Bunbury Mayor Gary Brennan attended.
The relay provides the Bunbury community with a chance to reflect, remember and support cancer patients, survivors and careers throughout the South West.
