Lego House, Castle on the Hill, Shape of You, Don’t, Thinking Out Loud – these are some of the many catchy songs from British superstar Ed Sheeran.
For the first time, Brandon Gray will bring his tribute to Sheeran – Sing – to the Prince of Wales Hotel, Bunbury on Saturday, December 15.
“I’m hoping it’ll be a great show, I’ve got lots of family members down there so I am really looking forward to it,” Gray said.
“I’m usually quite a shy person, so performing on stage brings out another side of me no one expects.”
During the two-hour show, Gray will perform Sheeran’s biggest hits along with his more obscure numbers.
The 20-year-old said the event would get plenty of people onto the dancefloor.
“I definitely look up to Sheeran as my biggest influence,” he said.
“I feel his style and the way he plays are completely different to anything anyone else he’s done before.
“He seems like a very normal, casual celebrity. That’s the reason why I look up to him because I aspire to be like him.”
Gray first devised Sing earlier this year, after performing some of Sheeran’s hits at various gigs across Perth.
“I was doing a support act for one of my manager’s other bands and I had a couple of Ed Sheeran songs,” he said.
“For some reason, I got a lot of people at gigs saying: ‘You play Ed Sheeran better than Ed Sheeran’.
“I was joking to my manager about it, saying: ‘I probably know enough songs to do a tribute’, and he said: ‘Yeah, let’s do it’.”
