The Bunbury Choose Respect committee is preparing for its annual general meeting and is encouraging community members to come along to learn more about the progress of the initiative and how small things can make a big difference.
Celebrating its tenth year in 2018, Choose Respect has been steadily growing throughout the community.
Chairman Peter Rigden said by growing a culture of respect, we could grow a more caring and considerate community.
“Simply by teaching our children to think before they act, to be considerate and care about themselves and others is the first step,” he said.
“To be able to teach respect, firstly we need to think about our own actions and be role models.”
People can be part of the Choose Respect campaign without having to attend meetings or make a regular commitment with the recent formation of the Friends of Choose Respect.
The AGM will be held on November 19, from 5.30pm at the Carey Park Primary School Library.
