The Lions Club of Eaton is seeking support from the local community in providing Christmas hampers for families experiences difficult times or hardship over the Christmas period.
Project organiser Jenni Goddard said the project was about trying to reach and support the people who may need help but might fall through the cracks.
“It’s about making them feel better and giving something at Christmas time to help take their mind off of what’s going on,” she said.
“The aim is to ensure families remain connected and can celebrate Christmas when tragedy occurs.
“So if they get something like this, at least it might cheer them up a little bit around Christmas time.”
Ms Goddard said they were seeking donations of non-perishable food, toys, vouchers and money to assist in providing the hampers to those in need.
The project has been running for more than 10 years and is supported by the Spud Shed, Bunbury Famers Market and Shire of Dardanup. Donations can be dropped off at the Shire of Dardanup offices, Amcal and Curves. For more information or to donate contact 0412 111 922.
