Eliza's Dream ($4.20) takes out Rangeview Stud Handicap

Punters at Bunbury Turf Club could not hide their excitement when Eliza's Dream ($4.20) took out the $19,000 Rangeview Stud Handicap.

During Thursday's event, the brown gelding settled in fourth after moving out from the barrier.

Remaining fourth past the 800-metre mark and the final turn, hopes of victory started to slip away.

On the home straight, however, Eliza’s Dream and rider Glenn Smith took their chance to move up.

Awesome As, and rider Shaun McGruddy, led throughout most of the race before falling back.

Eliza’s Dream crossed the line one length ahead of both Our Mate Al and Awesome As.

In the 1410m ASP Security Maiden, Mitchell Pateman and race favourite Archant ($2.30) led from the start to finish three lengths ahead of David Harrison-trained Veratal.

Trainer Ross Price and rider William Pike were thrilled after race favourite Caerhelan ($3.50) claimed the 1208m Hot Weld Fabrications Maiden in a time of 01:12:42.

Passing the turn in fourth, the brown filly’s chances were fading rapidly.

She sped past her competition on the home straight, finishing one-and-a-half lengths ahead of Texas Moon and two lengths in front of Flying Target.

A field of 11 battled it out in the 1208m Bull and Bush Tavern Maiden.

Rider Julien Kokotajlo and Gillespie ($2.40) crossed the line one-and-a-half lengths in front of Cockatiel (also $2.40).

Racing will return to the Bunbury Turf Club on Wednesday, December 5.
