Jamie and Brad Maiolo’s immaculate start to the 2018/19 Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series has continued, with Brad taking out round four on December 1.
Brad, youngest of the LJM Racing duo, won the feature race, taking the 30-lap shootout from Mitchell Wormall with Jamie Maiolo in third.
The Myalup-based brothers have claimed three of the four feature races on offer.
Brad started from sixth for the main event and, after a few caution periods held up the start of the race, quickly raced around the track’s highline to slide into second spot, before then hitting the lead to enjoy fresh air in front of him from lap nine.
On several occasions, the field was brought back to Brad on restarts, but, on each occasion, he was equal to the task and powered away to enjoy another buffer.
Wormall was on the back of Jamie Maiolo on lap 14 which also saw Ben Butcher in the mix for a while.
Jason Kendrick, who started from seventh, moved into sixth on lap 18, and for a while little separated second to sixth.
On the restart on lap 22, Jamie Maiolo slipped by Kaiden Manders for second.
A lap later, Kendrick slipped back a spot after losing momentum coming out of pits bend.
Wormall decided it was game on, trading multiple blows with Jamie Maiolo before claiming second place, something he held onto until the checkers.
Kendrick put in a big move in the last few laps, slipping under Andrew Priolo and Manders to take fourth.
They were followed over the line by Manders, Priolo, Chris Ackland, Darren Mewett, and Jason Pryde.
Heading into round four at Bunbury Speedway on Saturday night, Brad was the leader.
Despite winning the round, Brad has surrendered the lead to Jamie.
Jamie, who finished third, played his Joker card at Bunbury, doubling his feature race points for the show.
He has won two of the first four rounds.
As a result, Jamie is the new leader ahead of round five at the Perth Motorplex on December 8.
