In the 2018/19 Bunbury Basketball Association men’s competition, Aces Sky moved up to third on the ladder with a tight win over Aces White.
Leading throughout the first half, Aces White looked set to claim its second win of the season.
However, despite trailing at half time, Aces Sky refused to give up.
Aces Sky took the lead midway through the third quarter, before Aces White went up by seven at the final change.
Aces White dominated in the fourth and led 75 to 69 close to full time.
The side then crumbled under pressure, as Aces Sky picked up the pace
Two free-throws from Cory Richardson saw Aces Sky nab a 77 to 75 win.
Former South West Slammers star Travis Durnin led Bulls to victory against Tornadoes Red.
Bulls claimed a four-point lead at quarter time.
Thanks to Michael Lay (17), Braden Wilson (15), and Jordan Yarran (15), Tornadoes Red remained in the contest during the second term.
After leading 39 to 31 at the main break, Bulls increased its margin in the third.
The team remains undefeated following its 84 to 73 win.
Durnin landed an astounding 45 points, including 10 three-pointers and six two-pointers.
Jason Smith (30) and Brendon Park (21) were instrumental in Tornadoes Black’s victory over Dunsborough.
Following a sluggish start, Tornadoes Black went up by 17 at the main break.
The side led throughout the second half, before storming home to win 100 to 69.
Jack Flynn impressed for the Oilers with 15.
Tornadoes Black’s women’s side continued its dominance with a resounding win against Dunsborough.
The league leaders were ahead at quarter time thanks to Ebony Bilcich (36) and Georgia Denehey (20).
Impressive around the court, the side then claimed a 15-point lead at half time.
Ahead by 20 at the final change, Tornadoes Black went on to secure a 92 to 73 win.
Oilers’ star Beige Harris landed 27 on Dunsborough’s home court.
Tornadoes Red is second on the ladder following a crushing win against Aces Sky.
The Tornadoes side was ahead by three at the first change.
Tayah Burrows (14) and Shontai Farrant helped to put Tornadoes Red in front by 29 at three-quarter time.
Claiming an 89 to 46 win, Tornadoes Red is now favourite to meet Tornadoes Black in the grand final.
