In 2019, we will see more of the new Bunbury emerge.
Now that the Dolphin Discovery Centre’s redevelopment has been completed as part of Transforming Bunbury’s Waterfront, we have a world-class precinct that connects the foreshore to the city centre.
It’s a very different Koombana Drive to what it was a couple of years ago, and is a credit to all those who saw the potential in the area and those who made it happen.
People who haven’t visited Bunbury in a while will no doubt be pleasantly surprised by what they see these days.
Bunbury is definitely growing as Western Australia’s second city, and it’s presenting opportunities for residents.
The new Dolphin Discovery Centre, together with the revamped Koombana Foreshore and its fantastic playground, is a terrific attraction that the community can be proud of and tourists will enjoy visiting.
It really puts Bunbury on the map as a tourist destination.
And as more people visit the city, the benefits will flow on to other areas of town.
We can expect to see the Jetty Road causeway and Casuarina Drive transforming in 2019 as part of Transforming Bunbury’s Waterfront.
The Bunbury Development Committee will continue to work on guiding planning on other key projects including the Koombana park development, Withers urban renewal project and Glen Iris Liveability projects.
On behalf of the board and staff of the South West Development Commission, we wish everyone a safe, healthy and happy New Year!
We look forward to working with you in 2019.
