Trainers Daniel and Ben Pearce were elated after race favourite Time to Hunt ($1.75) took out the $19,000 Bunbury Plumbing Services Handicap at Bunbury Turf Club on December 23.
The bay gelding, led by rider Jarrad Noske, moved up from fourth at the final turn before finishing ahead of New Zealand’s Collaborate.
The 1400-metre Amelia Park Handicap saw Threesun ($13) claim an upset win, crossing the line a long-neck in front of race favourite Friarandice.
Rider Chris Parnham led chestnut gelding Saint Salvadore ($2.90) to a narrow victory in the 1200m Chaf City Handicap.
On New Year’s Day, punters watched as bay mare Glimmer Girl ($5) moved from second at the turn to clinch the 1208m BOQ Bunbury Handicap.
Brown gelding Rapisarda ($5.50) excelled during the MJB Industries Handicap, crossing a full length ahead of race favourite Akvavit.
Racing over 2219m, Lucy Warwick led Collaborate ($4.60) in the Troy Gard Memorial Handicap.
The pair powered down the straight, finishing three lengths ahead of race favourite Stairwaytothemoon.
