Once again, Bunbury is getting ready to host one of the South West's biggest arts and entertainment festivals.
From February 1 to 9, Fringe Festival Bunbury 2019 will deliver a stunning array of shows.
Tickets to more than 30 shows, across 10 venues, are now available for purchase.
The festival guide was released last week, providing information on everything this year’s event has to offer.
Returning in 2019, the custom built and installed Fringe Hub will be set up behind the Good Earth Surf Shop.
The nine-day festival will also host some of the country’s best musicians, theatre performers, and comedians.
Singer-songwriter/guitarist Mojo Juju will perform at Fringe Hub on Friday, February 8.
The team behind this year’s festival, including artistic director Jo O’Dea, are working tirelessly to make it a reality.
“We’ve worked really hard to make sure there’s plenty of diversity and a strong focus on local performers,” she said.
“Bunbury Fringe provides a platform for many local artists to create their own works.
“It’s really heartening to see local partners having faith in our team and investing in the festival. The support has been incredible.
“We’re making sure people from the region have the chance to see shows that they may not get to see otherwise, unless they go to Adelaide Fringe, Fringe World etc.”
One of the festival’s local acts, The Roof Goats, will hit the Bunbury Regional Art Galleries’ Chapel Gallery on February 2 and 3.
Described as having a “unique” essence and staging, the show – 12 BRAG Faves – will showcase the band’s love for music, art, and life.
Fuelled by positive energy, vocalist and guitarist Geoff Robinson is thrilled to be involved.
“We thought it would be nice to play some of our original songs and actually write some more,” he said.
“The gallery staff picked two paintings each, and we’ve created songs about them.
“We’re excited because we’ve assembled a bigger band than normal and the gallery really likes that space.
“The local performers get to be on the same bill as the bigger-name artists. This festival is really exciting.”
