In its debut season, Dunsborough’s men’s side has produced many strong performances.
The team claimed its seventh victory after toppling bottom-placed Eaton by 23 points in round 17.
The Oilers were the clear favourites, while Eaton was striving for its first win of the season.
Eaton and Dunsborough were neck-and-neck throughout the first term.
With help from star Matt Mansfield (16 points), the Oilers were ahead by a slight margin at quarter time.
Keen to avoid an upset loss, Dunsborough then sunk 17 to 10 in the second.
Ahead 25 to 17 at the main break, the Oilers extended their lead in the third quarter.
Dunsborough’s top players banded together to shoot 11 unanswered points midway through the term.
Leading by 25 points at three-quarter time, the Oilers later celebrated a 67 to 44 win.
Fourth-placed Tornadoes Red still remains in contention for the finals.
The team dominated from the opening tip-off, claiming a 23 to 9 lead over Aces White at quarter time.
Tornadoes Red shot six unanswered points early in the second, before Cody Bell (23, seven two-pointers and three three-pointers) gave Aces White a shot in the arm.
In front 45 to 21 at half time, Tornadoes Red’s Brodie Morris (19), Phoenix Oneil (17), and Alastair Ishigami-Sims (14) then added plenty more to their side’s total.
Aces White was depleted throughout the final term. Shooting 24 in the fourth, Tornadoes Red notched up a decisive 106 to 49 win.
Continuing its remarkable run, Dunsborough’s women’s team posted a resounding 92 to 71 win over Tornadoes Red.
The Oilers were slick, with the side landing the first nine points of the game.
Moving out to a 28 to 15 lead at the first change, Dunsborough continued its momentum in the following term.
After leading by 21 at the main break, the Oilers maintained a wide margin throughout the second half.
Oilers Adele East (29), Dana East (18), Shannon Verhagen (17) were unstoppable, while Shontai Farrant (36) and Cassady Anderson (20) starred for Tornadoes Red.
Tornadoes Black remains on top, with little standing between the side and the 2018/19 premiership title.
The league leaders eviscerated fourth-placed Aces Sky, shooting 20 unanswered points early in the first quarter.
South West Slammers’ stars Ebony Bilcich (23) and Cian Parsons (21) landed several attempts in the second.
Up by 23 midway through the clash, Tornadoes Black pushed the margin out to 29 at three-quarter time.
The side scored 29 to 11 in the final term, claiming an 89 to 41 win.
