Trainers Daniel and Ben Pearce scored a double after rider Joseph Azzopardi led race favourite Angelic Ruler ($1.65) to victory in the $100,000 Rangeview Stud Classic.
Late last year, Azzopardi pushed My Laina to claim the $19,000 South West Refuge Handicap.
At the Bunbury Turf Club on Sunday, February 3, punters watched as Angelic Ruler settled in fifth and held her position past the 800-metre mark.
In fifth at the final turn, the bay filly then cruised past the competition.
Cocky Dodd led throughout the race, before falling back on the straight.
Angelic Ruler finished three-quarters-of-a-length in front of chestnut gelding Final Hearing.
Earlier in the day, the Pearce Brothers celebrated when Friar’s Fantasia ($1.80) secured the 1400m Duncan Equine Group Handicap.
After settling in the middle of the field, the four-year-old bay mare moved up on the straight.
She crossed a long-neck ahead of Suspectus and Melros Beach.
Rider Jade McNaught and Thunderplump ($4.60) took out the 3yo+ Amelia Park Handicap in a time of 01:11:91.
In the $19,000 Oakland Park Stud Sprint, rider Patrick Carbery and Mirisistible ($10) finished one-and-three-quarter lengths ahead of In the Bag.
Ancient Hope ($2.70), led by rider William Pike, launched a comeback before winning the final race of the day, the 1675m Owners Only Handicap.
The bay mare finished a full length in front of Patchirac.
The Bunbury Turf Club will host another action-packed day of racing on Thursday, February 14.
