An official at a Perth race track where an eight-year-old girl died after crashing insists he didn't wave her towards the exit gate, which she hit at almost 60 km/h.
Anita Board was trying to obtain her drag racing licence at Perth Motorplex on November 11, 2017 when she slammed into a concrete barrier next to the exit gate, suffering a catastrophic brain injury.
Volunteer track official Shaun Rosling told the WA Coroner's Court on Tuesday that Anita was going too fast after crossing the finish line so he made a gesture for her to slow down.
The court has previously heard others at the track thought he might also have been waving Anita towards the exit gate.
She only slowed down "a little" before veering towards the exit gate, which is at a sharp right angle to the track, Mr Rosling said.
"She's just turned and misjudged it," he said.
Mr Rosling was the first person to rush to her "Pony Power" dragster, which was emblazoned with pictures of her favourite My Little Pony character.
"She was slumped over. She wasn't breathing," he said.
"The butterfly steering wheel was actually bent right back."
The court heard Anita reached a peak speed of about 91 km/h about six seconds from impact, when she was travelling at 59.8 km/h.
The inquest continues.
