Round Three of the City of Bunbury Surf Life Saving Club’s Junior Championships took place in perfect conditions last Sunday, with a good sized shorebreak testing the skills of competitors. Providing the opportunity to put the skills to the test, competitors took part in races that use all surf and life saving skills – board race, surf swim, flags and beach sprints. Following a points based competition over three championships rounds, Junior champions will be announced at the end of the season. The final round also allows junior club members to practice for the SLSWA Country Club Championships taking place over the March long weekend at Sorrento. Bunbury is always well represented at these championships and has won the competition for 24 consecutive years.
