Boyanup is getting ready to host its first Seniors Health Expo on March 14.
The free event will be held at the newly developed Meadowbrooke Lifestyle Estate, an over 55’s development in Boyanup.
Meadowbrooke Lifestyle Estate general manager Michelle Elson said she believed the health expo would not just be good for new residents but good for the Boyanup community as a whole and for seniors in neighbouring South West towns.
"It is amazing to see a host of not-for-profit health organisations and government departments travel from as far as Perth and Bunbury to host a stall at the event," she said.
"We also are supporting a host of local small business that work within the health industry.
"We invite you all to come along for a fun day and bring your family and friends."
The expo has attracted more than 24 stalls and nine speakers will present throughout the day from 10am to 2pm.
Stalls will include hearing tests, blood pressure checks, St John Ambulance, massage, mobility products, will/power of attorney, travel agents, home care, Alzheimer’s WA, physiotherapists, eye care, technology for aging and disabled and crafts.
Speakers will cover a range of topics including the Shire of Capel Health Department presenting on mosquito and listeria prevention.
The Meadowbrooke social club will be providing yummy home cooked refreshments as a fundraiser and there will be a free door prize and various raffles.
Those who attend will also have the opportunity to tour the estate.
