Odine's Martial Arts Centre's Max Adams returned to the ring for his third official fight earlier this month.
The 39-year-old took part in the Futures IX muay thai event at the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre on Saturday, March 2.
Competing in a four-man eliminator challenge, Adams lost to Salim Chebbo, from No Regrets Training, on points.
"I got tagged in the second round, so I then composed myself before finishing the second round," he said.
"I then completed the third round, and made a bit of a comeback as well.
"The feedback I received was that I was more calm and relaxed going into the fight. The objective is to keep working on the smaller, finer things as I go."
Adams competed in front of a home crowd during Respect Fight Night 6 in May 2018.
He then took on John Pham in the Evolve: WA Amateur Muay Thai 2018 event, held in Mirrabooka on November 11.
Adams will return for Respect Fight Night 7 at the South West Italian Club in May, and will undergo a rigorous training regiment prior to the bout.
The fighter thanked the team at Odine's Martial Arts Centre for their guidance.
"Jason Lea is my fight trainer, and he has been amazing. Ethan Williams is a great trainer there, as well," he said.
"Gary Odine has been amazing - he has given me the opportunity and encouragement to have a go.
"If I get a win, I'll be happy. But I am just ecstatic to be able to compete at my age and at the level I'm at.
"As long as I improve each time, I will be more than happy."
