Revised plans for two proposed industrial parks, set to provide up to 4000 jobs in the South West, have been re-released for public comment.
The draft Wanju and Waterloo Industrial Park district structure plans, originally released in 2016 and 2017, have been revised based on stakeholder feedback.
The plans include high-quality urban development to accommodate 50,000 people.
The Bunbury Outer Ring Road - a bypass to reduce congestion, improve safety, and provide an efficient freight route - has now been realigned in both plans.
Additional background work has also been carried out to help inform the revised plans, including a landscape vision plan, water servicing report, revised staging plan, agri-food planning analysis and a strategic bushfire hazard level assessment.
The proposed industrial park in Waterloo will deliver land for commercial, light and general industrial uses, and has been identified as a suitable agri-food processing precinct.
The Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage, on behalf of the Western Australian Planning Commission, has developed both plans in partnership with the Shire of Dardanup.

Planning Minister Rita Saffioti said the State Government would help to provide more opportunities for people in the region.
“The Wanju and Waterloo Industrial Park district structure plans will help shape the future of the region but it is important that we take our time to get it right," she said.
“I look forward to seeing these transport and planning initiatives leverage business and job growth opportunities in the South West, and ask that residents and businesses take a look and have their say.”
Collie-Preston MLA Mick Murray agreed, saying the proposals would change the South West for the better.
“These plans, in conjunction with the Bunbury Outer Ring Road, create huge opportunities for employment in the South West," he said.
“Once developed these areas could support around 4000 jobs close to good transport links and the Bunbury Port.
“I encourage businesses and locals alike to review the revised plans and have their say."
