The Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre will host the South West debut of pianist Oxana Shevchenko at 7pm on Thursday, March 21.

Shevchenko was one of the top six finalists at the 2016 Sydney International Piano Competition and won first place for the best Piano Quintet.

Shevchenko will also host a one hour Piano Masterclass at 5pm on Tuesday, March 19 in The Cube Theatre.

Two classical music students have been invited to participate, both receiving 30 minutes of one-on-one training with Shevchenko.

The masterclass is free to the public to observe with complimentary tickets available at bunburyentertainment.com.

"We're thrilled to be able to bring such high-calibre talent to the South West" Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre Fiona de Garis said.

"And most excited to provide this once in a lifetime masterclass experience to local aspiring pianists."

The program will include Beethoven's Piano Sonata No.13 Op.27 No.1, Schumann's Carnaval Op.9, Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, and two works by Tchaikovsky: 18 Pieces Op.72 No.5 Méditation and Dumka Op.59.
