A handful of South West cricketers recently took part in two of Western Australia's biggest junior competitions.
Twenty-two young players represented the South West in this year's Under-13/U14 Regional Carnival in Northam, over the March long weekend.
The event saw 77 of the state's best U13/14s participate in several Twenty20 clashes.
South West Black and South West Gold went up against Wheatbelt, Great Southern, Midwest, North West, and Goldfields.
South West Gold opened its account with a commanding win over North West.
Opening batsman Isaac Evans (47) led South West Black to victory over Goldfields in round two, after South West Gold defeated Wheatbelt.
Wheatbelt then redeemed themselves with a win over South West Black in round three.
Both South West teams went head-to-head in round four, with South West Gold winning by 54 runs.
South West Black claimed a narrow win over Great Southern in round five, before South West Gold trounced Mid West.
In round six, Mid West claimed a three-wicket win over South West Black after South West Gold decimated Great Southern.
Albany took out the Peel Carnival U12 A Division title with 41 points, ahead of the Bunbury and Districts Cricket Association on 29.
Busselton-Margaret River nabbed the U12 B crown, finishing one point clear of Albany and Bunbury and Districts.
Bunbury and Districts secured the U14 title, with Peel, Busselton, and Margaret River rounding out the top four.
