The City of Bunbury is looking forward to a positive future for Hands Oval, according to Deputy Mayor Jaysen Miguel.
Mr Miguel confirmed the city has teamed up with the relevant stakeholders to identify ways of improving the facility.
"Hands Oval is the premier football venue in the South West and hosts the South West Football League grand final each year," he said.
"It is one of Bunbury's most iconic sporting grounds with a significant history. Any future funding allocations will be a decision of council.
"A business case will be developed in 2019/20, as this has been identified as one of council's top five priority projects for further consideration."
Mr Miguel said the facility could be utilised for a wide variety of major events, scheduled carefully throughout the year.
