The Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre will host award-winning stage sensation Catherine Alcorn and her hilarious stage show, The Divine Miss Bette, on Wednesday, April 3.
A rapturous tribute to Bette Midler, The Divine Miss Bette arrives in Bunbury after a debut season at the Sydney Opera House and a sellout US tour last year.
The Divine Miss Bette takes audiences on a trip down memory lane, back to the Palace Theatre, New York 1973, as Alcorn belts out the diva's early classics.
Backed by a seven piece band, Alcorn will perform hits such as Stay with Me Baby, You're Moving out Today, Wind Beneath My Wings, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, and In The Mood.
Alcorn said she would mesmerise audiences with her magnificent voice and razor sharp wit.
"It's my bent on Bette. A channelling if you will. It's a riot," Alcorn said.
Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre executive director Fiona de Garis said she was excited to see Alcorn on stage.
"We're delighted to welcome Catherine Alcorn to the South West. Known for her powerhouse voice and commanding stage presence, I know audiences will love her," she said.
In 2018, The Divine Miss Bette won the Best Cabaret Production at the Broadway World Awards.
Alcorn is a firm fixture on the festival stage, having headlined the Sydney Festival, Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Sydney Festival, and Perth Fringe Festival.
Tickets for The Divine Miss Bette are on sale now and can be purchased online at bunburyentertainment.com, by phone on 1300 661 272 or in person at the box office.
