A group of plucky participants travelled around the Leschenault Inlet for the 2019 Melanoma March on Sunday, March 17.
Community members from all walks of life completed the 5-kilometre loop, before returning to the Bunbury Power Boat Club to celebrate their achievements.
Residents turned out in support of family members/friends impacted by melanoma.
Bunbury Melanoma March Ambassador Wanda Mahony thanked the organising committee, volunteers, participants, and sponsors for their support.
"Many people go through life not realising how harmful the sun can be, until they're struck down with melanoma," she said.
"We're walking for a cure. Someone dies from melanoma every five hours, so it's great that this event raises public awareness."
The Bunbury campaign raised over $1460 for Melanoma Institute Australia and melanomaWA, providing support services for those impacted by melanoma.
MelanomaWA, a not-for-profit organisation, raises awareness about the benefits of skin and sun safety.
This year's program has raised over $861,500 through events held across Australia.
