The South West Slammers took on Kalamunda Eastern Suns and Perth Redbacks in a blockbuster weekend of basketball.
Heading to Kalamunda on Friday night, the Slammers' women's side was looking to secure its second win of the season.
Makailah Dyer (19 points) and Bianca Donovan (9) put the visitors in front after the opening tip-off, before Kalamunda took the lead.
Ahead 23 to 12 at the first change, Jewel Williams (26) and captain Jennie Rintala (13) extended the home side's lead in the second quarter.
Brittni Montgomery (claiming another double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds), captain Courtney Bayliss (7), and Aimee Coles (4) kept the Slammers in the contest.
Leading throughout the final term, Kalamunda defeated the Slammers 69 to 62.
Recovering from a slow start, Kalamunda's men's side secured a six-point lead over the Slammers at quarter time.
Joshua Braun (32) and Carl Aylett (24) tore through the Slammers' defence, while Louis Timms top scored with 35.
Thanks to captain Michael Lay (26) and Brian Voelkel (collecting a triple-double with 14 points, 13 assists, and 11 rebounds), the Slammers came back to level the scores at three-quarter time.
Shooting 39 to 19 in the fourth, Kalamunda went on to score a 108 to 88 win.
The Slammers' women returned to Eaton Recreation Centre for a nail-biting clash against the Perth Redbacks.
Suzi-rose Deegan (23) and Nes'eya Williams (20) put the visitors in front by one at quarter time.
Trailing 41 to 33 at the main break, Bayliss (23) and Dyer (21) produced strong performances for the Slammers in the third term.
The Slammers took the lead in the fourth quarter, before winning 85 to 78.
Striving for its first win of the year, the Slammers' men's side obliterated Perth in the opening term.
Efforts from Marshall Nelson (25) and Majier Garang III (11) saw the Redbacks lead by eight at the main break.
Remaining in front throughout the second half, Perth celebrated a 91 to 84 win.
Slammer Tyler Livingston earned a double-double (37 points, 12 rebounds), before Voelkel landed his second consecutive triple-double (10 points, 15 rebounds, 13 assists).
